Security Cameras Foil Ohio Heist

"Everybody knows that a security camera system, even if it is only made up of one camera, can be one of the most useful tools you can have as a business owner. A security camera system can catch criminals in the act, deter criminals from attempting a crime, or even catch dishonest employees.

One such case of a security camera system catching a thieving employee comes from Akron, Ohio. Willie Grimes, a 22-year-old resident of Akron, has recently been charged with theft. According to police, Grimes was caught stealing from a Chapel Hill shoe store where he was employed.

When the owner of the store Grimes worked for caught him trying to take two pairs of shoes out of the store, he immediately fired him. The owner examined security footage from past days and found that Grimes had been smuggling shoes out of the store for quite some time.

Grimes would hide the shoes in trash bags that he would take out back to the trash can and then hide the empty shoe boxes in the rafters of the store. When police finally tallied the total amount stolen from the store, it showed that Grimes had looted $4,100 in stolen shoes.

Now I don't know about you, but if $4,100 of anything was taken from me, I'd be pretty upset. Thankfully for the owner of the store, he had a solid security camera system that documented the entire run of Grimes' theft, allowing justice to be served and a criminal to be stopped.

The outcome for the store owner could have been considerably worse, but since he had a fully functional security camera system, things turned out for the better. Security and protection, for not only you but also your assets, isn't something to be taken lightly. So if you don't have a security camera system, or the one you currently have is in dire need of an upgrade, don't hesitate because you could find yourself in the same situation mentioned above only without the happy ending."
